As a postdoc, I spend my days as close to the act as instruments allow: electron microscopy and atom probe tomography, watching alloys change under the conditions that matter. Before that: a PhD on how additively manufactured superalloys wear at temperature, and industry years measuring surfaces for people with real hardware on the line.
Where this goes
Toward a research group built on one conviction: how a surface degrades shouldn't be something we discover after the fact; it should be something we understand well enough to anticipate, and eventually to choose. Aerospace, naval, and nuclear hardware are where the stakes are highest. The specifics are taking shape in work moving toward publication. If you want the full picture, ask me directly.
